The Great Alaskan Adventure - Day 1

July 10th, 2013 Travel Day

Today starts the Luster's great adventure to the great state of Alaska!
The boys are a little punchy at 5:30am - they are being dinosaurs!

We had a layover in  Seattle and due to some seat reassignments we were put on a later flight - this gave us four hours in Seattle so we decided to head downtown to the Pike Place Market where they have the famous fish throwers!  After a quick taxi ride we were there!

Andy made a friend!
The flowers stands were unbelievable!  Gorgeous flowers arrangements that you would probably pay $50 for selling for $10!  And the produce!  Wow!  It all looked so fresh and yummy!   John and I had lunch at Pike Place Chowder - YUM and the boys hit up a cute little Italian place - way better than airport food!

We took the Light Rail back to the airport -much cheaper than the taxi we took into downtown and dropped us right at the airport!  Back in time to hit up the newsstand and charge electronics before getting on our flight to Anchorage!

This was our first view of Alaska as soon as we got off the plane:

Absolutely breathtaking!  Uncle Frank met us at baggage claim, we picked up our rental car and off to The Mutchies we went.  Uncle Frank made us delicious tacos for dinner while the boys relaxed in the hot tub!

Aunt Angel and Cousin Drew came home a little bit later and the guys decided to play badminton - this picture was taken at 9:30pm!

After a long day of travel it was off to bed - with the sun still shinning!  We are trying to adjust to going to bed while it is still daylight out - I am sure we will get use to it soon!  The nice thing is you don't have to rush to see things - cause you have all night!

Took this right before bed, at 10:40pm :)  Still light out!!!
